Manic Monday #4

  • Micah says she wants a 'Darbie doll house' for Christmas, proof that commercial advertising works on 2 year olds.
  • I want a clean house for Christmas.
  • Matt doesn't want anything. boo.
  • I love Gilmore Girls a crazy amount.
  • I think I want bangs. But my head sweats. They'd probably be damp and crusted to my forehead 98% of the time.
  • Thanksgiving is a let-down holiday. The food is not as good as I imagine. I'd rather eat Mexican food any day.
  • My scale was wacked out this morning, and it flashed a fabulously low number at me for a whole minute. I freaked, stepped back on, and then the sadness set in...
  • Tomorrow is Christmas decorating day! Yay!! I'm firing up the video camera to capture the action. My kid is funny and I want to remember it forever.
  • I can't decide what to do for my Christmas cards... ?
  • I saw Twilight at the midnight showing on the day it came out. I loved it so much, I was back in a seat for the next showing a few hours later. I've read the entire series 2 times, and am headed for a third. Today I was daydreaming about going to see it again. I listen to the soundtrack while editing. I think I have a problem.
  • I bought mom this sign that says: I'm so far behind I thought I was first. I can relate.
  • Maybe I should get Lost on Netflix. People are crazed about it, and I've never watched a single episode. I think I'd like it. I'll never have time to watch it, and I'll keep the dvd's for a year and won't return them, and now the thought of Netflixing Lost is irritating.  Nevermind.
  • Zits are dumb and serve no purpose. Yuck. I have one now, and it's making me crazy. I think God should reconsider the whole concept of the zit.
  • I am going to make a Life List. I have so many things I want to do and see and I can't keep track of all of them.
  • Lone Grove is one of my favorite places in the whole world.
  • I get hundreds of hits on this blog everyday, yet zip-o on the comments. What's up with that you guys? Hook me up.
  • That's it for today. I'm hitting the sack.

It was 'Mommy/Micah Day' today. Totally the best day of the week. Here's us playing with the Photo Booth tonight...

It started out normal:

then it was hilarious:

mommy's mean face:

stick your tongue out!

hey! put your finger up your nose!

try it with two fingers!

and a few effects:

Micah thought the effects were funny at first, then her voice was thick with concern, and she said, 'Mommy?!?' while rubbing my face to make sure it was still normal. My Lord she's priceless.

hahahahaahaha. OH Mommy/Micah day. You are the best.

Manic Monday #3

Posted on Monday, November 24, 2008 at 11:43PM by Registered CommenterAmy Blackburn in | Comments3 Comments

It's technically still Monday as I begin this post, I figure it won't be when I'm finished, but I've decided it still counts.

  • I've been gone for a while. I'm sorry. My wonderful granfather, Alvin Orsag, passed away last Friday night. He was an amazing man, and he will be greatly missed.
  • This Monday I'm not feeling specifically creative, so I'm opening up my Table Topics, and answering a few:
  • if possible would you live year round in your favorite season: No. My favorite thing about the seasons is when they change, and I do love summer, but I love it when summer changes to fall more than I actually love summer.
  • which celebrity do people say you resemble: None really. I got Mandy Moore recently, but that was totally random, and it confused me thoroughly.
  • what's the best way to spend a rainy weekend: On the sofa. Tons of Netflix. Pizza. Brownies. Or cookies. mmm.... Great American Cookie Double Doozies....
  • in which activity would you like to have a lesson from an expert: Photography. But only from a real expert. Like Annie Liebovitz.
  • is it more difficult for you to speak kindly or honestly: It depends on who I'm speaking to. But usually, it's more difficult for me to speak kindly. I'm blunt.
  • what's the last thing you cried about: Grandpa. Dixie Lullaby was on the radio, and it got me.
  • what historical time period would you most like to visit: Civil War era. It's the Scarlett and Rhett obsession, I'm sure.
  • which moment from your life would you choose to relive if you could: My wedding! I wish I had been more present in the moment, I wish I had stopped and really taken it all in. Weddings are such a whirlwind...
  • what's your favorite part of thanksgiving dinner: Stuffing! Yay for Thursday! I can't wait for some stuffing with real cranberry sauce...
  • if you could change one thing about the way you look what would it be: My weight. Usual girl answer, right? It's just one of those things I don't think I'll ever be 100% happy with.
  • what makes you laugh the hardest: taddpily or birthday cheese!!!
  • which of your ancestors would you most like to meet: Cyrus Reeves. He was a doctor in the Civil War, and I find anything about his life to be incredibly interesting.
  • what remains undone that you have wanted to get done for years: I've got one bazillion pictures thrown into photo boxes, and I have intended to buy tons of albums and organize them all by date, and slap them into said albums. Have I done this? No. Is it killing me? Yes.
  • if you could have front row seats to any concert who would you like to see: Linkin Park. OOH! The thought of it just made me excited!!
  • what do you miss about childhood: The lack of responsibility. doing nothing for hours. no bills. no real worries.
  • where would you choose to live if you had to leave the country: Australia. It's exotic enough to be interesting, I won't have to learn a new language.
  • when you're down what do you do to feel better: Shop or eat. I've been shopping excessively this week, and I'm actually hungry now!
  • Okay, that's it. This may have been blah, but it's all I had in me. Hope you had a great Monday!

Aundrea + Travis

Meet my old friend, Aundrea, and her sweet husband, Travis. Aundrea (Undies) and I used to work together waaay back in the day at Extraco. It had been years since I'd seen her and then out of the blue she contacted Danielle about setting up a session, and I am so glad she did! Undies and Travis are actually my first non-engagement couples session. I liked it! I think young married couples should take pictures together more often, why should we only get pictures when we get married or once we have a kid?? Maybe Matt and I should have some pictures made.... hmmm... maybe not. He does get that mohawk tomorrow... :-/

they are soooo sweet together!

it had been a while, and i think i had forgotten exactly how beautiful Undies is!!

it's late. and i can't decide which of these next two i like better:

one of my favorite doors: they really rocked it!

the lateness gets me again.

they're hot in this one...

but the 'lean in' is too cute!
